AFCI Association of Film Commissioners International Location Show 2012

The AFCI will hold there annual AFCI Location show this year again in Hollywood, Los Angeles, Californai

Their motto this year:  Travel Around the World for free in only two days

The show is filled with the film commissioners and staff of countries and regions throughout the world.  Booths offer information, photos, details and pamphlets on the various film tax credits and production incentives offered by the areas they represent.

A prestigious panel of Speakers will discuss international co-productions, film tax credits, funding for film budget production support including film production incentives and government grants and funds.

The Variety BRIC Summit will likewise take place at the event with a focus on China, Russia, Brazil and India. (ticketed separately from the main event.)

The Latest News for the Film segment is that the schedule is now available of the screenings for the Films in competition.   SXSW Film presents an eclectic range of movies with various levels of production, some using a low film budget while others are much more well financed feature films.   While many films have distribution a great deal of the films do not.  With the continuing upheaval in the indie film budget marketplace, film finance matters are very heavy on everyone's mind.

A new debuting film, 'A Bag of Hammers,' that will be hosting its world premier at the SXSW Festival is Directed by first time director Brian Crano and is a comedy about two misfits of lifelong friends that are unable to grow up. You can find the schedule to mark out your calendars for the other films you want to see from your favorite and upcoming directors, actors and producers.

NEVERDIE Studios will be hosting 2 SXSW Happy Hours of Arcade gaming from game developer ScreenBurn. The game developer Meet Up Mixer will run from 5-6pm on Friday, March 11th in room 1 of the Convention Center and runs for three days, ending on Sunday the 13th at 6pm. Its a place for meeting and collaborating for those involved in the future of the Gaming industry.

The second event hosted by ScreenBurn will be the ScreenBurn Block Party Running Saturday the 12th of March in the Exhibit Hall 2 of the Convention Center, where you will find drinks and food provided by IngZ, Sony Computer Entertainment of America, Beyond Gaming, RockLive, Insomniac Games, indiPub and more.
