The 35th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) - September 9-19, 2010
Showcasing films with indie to major studio film budgets, this prestigious film festival takes place each autumn after labor day and marks the commencement of the film festival and market season. Movie stars, directors, producers and studio executives flock to this wonderful city to show their current projects, make deals and be seen actively in the film industry marketplace.
A Press Conference was held on August 10th to present the list of of Canadian titles included in the festival program. TIFF operates year round with many supportive programs for the film business. International, Hollywood and Canadian films compete in TIFF competition.
This year is no exception with films from Clint Eastwood, Danny Boyle with appearance by Matt Damon, James Franco, Eva Mendes and many more. Added to the line-up are two Galas, 18 Special Presentations including 14 World Premieres.
News updates: Keira Knightly, Eva Mendes starrer "Last Night" directed by Massy Tadjedin will take the Closing Night slot and will be the World Premiere for the film.

"Super"sells for seven figures in first pick up at the fest. "Dredd" raises its pre-sales to $30M on $45M film budgets for Stuart Ford'sIM Global. Several foreign films are leading the sales like "The King's Speech" with Geoffrey Rush and Colin Firth setting the pace.
"So many of the movies have much higher budgets -- that's always a problem for sellers looking to get a price that they need."
